The Semi Calado is our most breathable Panama hat — and the one that consistently surprises people when they first put it on. The ventilated weave creates strategically placed openings throughout the crown, allowing air to circulate freely while keeping the classic Havana silhouette intact.

Handwoven in Montecristi, Ecuador by master artisans, the Semi Calado is built on the same authentic toquilla straw construction as all our hats — with one beautiful difference: you can feel the breeze.

What Makes the Semi Calado Special

The ventilation holes are not punched or cut — they are woven directly into the hat during the hand-weaving process. This requires significantly more skill than a standard weave and results in a hat that is both structurally strong and exceptionally cool to wear.

Grade & Brim Options

Brim widths from 2 inches up to 3.5 inches — wider brims offer more sun protection and a bolder look.
